PRE-IPO / STRATEGY AND READINESS

IPO readiness begins with the business

Before setting a filing date, management needs to understand what drives growth and whether the company can sustain it.

The first IPO question is what the company intends to do with access to public capital. Listing may support expansion and investor access. It also brings obligations for disclosure, governance, and timely reporting. Owners and executives need to understand both sides before committing to the path.

With that purpose defined, examine the drivers of readiness: group and ownership structures, related-party transactions, financial reporting, cash flow, controls, people, and the capacity to grow. These elements interact. Revenue can rise while slow closing or reliance on one owner leaves the organization unprepared.

A useful self-assessment goes beyond a score. It identifies the issue, the evidence still missing, the responsible person, and the likely work required. Management can then sequence improvements and seek specialist review before drawing conclusions about eligibility or a filing date.

A practical thread

Business purpose → evidence → obstacles → improvement → verified readiness
